Registering with the surgery

When you register, it’s helpful to have your NHS number. You can use the NHS website to find your NHS number.

Out of area registration

The practice is able to register patients who do not live within the practice boundary although the practice is not always going to be in a position to provide home visits. This will be explained upon registration.

Temporary residents

If you are away from home and need medical attention you may consult a doctor in the area in which you are a temporary resident. Please contact us at 8am on the morning you wish to attend. We regret that once our appointments are fully booked we will therefore be unable to accommodate a temporary resident and would advise you to contact 111 for advice.

Foreign visitors

Visitors from other countries may also see a GP as a temporary resident (at the doctor’s discretion). There may be a charge if the country of origin is not a member of the European Economic Area or does not have a health care agreement with the UK. Further details are available upon request.

Patient preference of practitioner

Patients are registered with the practice, not a specific GP. Patients can therefore see any GP within the practice although all patients do have a named doctor. Please ask for your named doctor when contacting the practice. All medical information is recorded on the computer, and all GPs have access to this information. However, patients do have the right to express a preference of doctor, and these requests will be accommodated where possible.
